Stacked Deck:
the AWMA Election Process

Jim Engel    February 1, 2020

The ongoing strife in the American Working Malinois Association (AWMA) seems to be coming to a head, with many expecting that the next election, this fall, will bring relief. This would seem to be the obvious and natural process, but this may very well turn out to be an illusion.

To understand why this is so we need to look to history. As a prime example, when the NAZI party in Germany won one election, actually formed a minority government, they immediately perverted the legal system so that there could never again be a contested election. This is the typical scenario in the establishment of any dictatorship. In a similar way the Camper cabal has stacked the AWMA deck to make removal of an incumbent regime very difficult.

In USCA and many similar organizations it is the training clubs rather than individual members who have a vote in national elections and affairs. This made a lot of sense forty years ago, prior to the Internet, but is increasingly antiquated today.

The Camper cabal has added a new and devious twist. In addition to the votes of the AWMA training clubs the members of the General Board of Directors also have a vote in the election of the next administration.

That’s right, Camper and all of her minions, including the refuges estranged from other breed communities, will be able to vote for themselves in the upcoming election. Those close to the situation indicate that with the small number of clubs this may be very difficult to overcome. Also, if as the election approaches and they seem to be in trouble the cabal is perfectly capable of expelling selected clubs to prevent them from voting.

For these reasons the only solution may be a new club.
